    Description of Quality Control/Technical Support Department
    We use both the services of in-house QC team and reputable subcontractors.

    We devote over US$50,000 to QC operations every year.

    Quality Control Procedures
    QC checks are done on half-finished products from suppliers before they enter our warehouses. Inspections are performed every step of the way: during the component stage, pre-packaging stage, after-packaging, and just before delivery. Random sampling is used.
    Origin of Materials and Components
    Suppliers guarantee the quality of our materials and components: stainless steel, ABS plastic, and electronic components.
    Additional Information about the Quality Control Process
    Our QC and testing machines are developed in-house. We also subcontract testing to outsiders. The specialized equipment used include ultrasonic welding machines and transfer printing machines.

    We own several patents on thermal cooker and one patent on electric pasta maker.

    Our R&D facility is located in Tainan, Taiwan (100% in-house). Some of our staff were trained in Japan.
    Procedures and Practices
    All six of our researchers have college diplomas or professional certificates. They develop new products both to meet existing market demand and to supply potential new markets. Currently, at least US$250,000 per year is spent on R&D.

    Furthermore, with more than 26 years of experience in making molds, R&D has been integrated into the design stage all the way to production and assembly. Sound coordination between the different stages of production eliminates flaws caused by malfunctioning components.

    About Chine Lee Industrial Co. Ltd.
    Chine Lee was founded in 1971. At first, the company only made molds for its customers. Then, in 1985, a second plant specializing in small non-electric appliances was established. The production process became well integrated from design to mold-casting, component-making, assembly, finishing, and packaging.

    In 1988 Chine Lee began making the 2.0L Magic Saver Cooker, and became the largest maker of this type of cooker outside Japan. The growing market demand led us to create bigger cookers, from the 2.0L to 3.0L, 5.0L, 6.0L, to 8.0L. A total of nine types in various shapes and sizes were exported to Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, USA, and Canada. We paid great attention to the image of our "Very Well Made in Taiwan" products, and we carefully followed our government's policy of "leaving our roots in Taiwan."

    In 1994, in response to customers' demands, we developed the electric Magic Jar. Good sales led us to change the direction of our company once more towards the electric home appliance market. In 1998, once more in response to market demands, we developed the electric pasta and dough maker. We are now in the process of proactively promoting this new product.

    A quality-conscious company, we firmly believe that our duty is to bring products of the highest quality to our customers, and that our reputation is our lifeline. We cultivate long-term relationships with our clients, and do not care for short-term profits. We thus proactively visit our clients every 3 to 6 months to increase mutual understanding and inform each other of the latest developments in the market.

    The future direction of our company is clear: we will continue to develop at least two new products every year, and by the years 1999~2000 we expect to expand our marketing efforts to Europe and Central America.
